Here’s a fantastic swallow on chest tattoo design for women. The simple yet bold design is stunning.

This  swallow tattoo is a gutsy choice, as swallows are traditionally a favorite for sailors. But check out my article on  swallow symbolism to see what else they may mean. The beautiful birds are popular with many cultures, hence why  swallows are popular tattoo designs.

Graphic tip: for those of you who like to add many tattoos, look at how this woman is limiting the color palette. The tattoos are black, or black and red. This is important… too many colors will make things look messy, unrefined, and kind of trashy. Practice restraint and you’ll get an allover better look.

Another thing to be aware of when putting many tattoos together, is to think of the size of your tattoos in relation to each other. I am finding the flower tattoos a bit too large here in relation to the bird.  Or it’s a mini swallow in the land of Gulliver.

Do think of this before you get your tattoos  – taking time before you do your tattoos is a good way to eliminate tattoo regret.

Still, I do like the overall boldness of the tattoos. As you well know, I shudder when I think of typical female fairy tats. Yuk. That’s why a female swallow tattoo is a breath of fresh air.
