Tribal Shoulder Design

Here is another exceptionally styled Tribal Shoulder Tattoo. Shoulder tattoos are very prominent, and Tribal Tattoo designs work well here because they are abstract and can fit over the shape of your shoulder really setting off its form.

What’s better than a star design tattoo? Many star design tattoos. And all of them large and tattooed on your upper back.

We love this woman’s bold take on 3 five pointed stars – each star is similar, and yet, a little different too. One start tattoo is filled in with black, while another is red. The third tattoo is using outlines only. Same but different. I like that. That’s smart design.

Stars are a ubiquitous symbol. Stars are heavenly bodies – universal – something divine from heaven above. above. Star are simple, yet strong.

The star symbolizes achievement, honor, and hope. It is a widely used military symbol and nearly all armies use the five pointed star without crossing lines to symbolize military rank and power.

The five pointed star without crossing lines is used in the flags of 35 countries. Its first appearance on a national flag is believed to have been in 1777, when the United States of America used it on its flag design.

Hot Tribal Shoulder Tattoo Extends to the Upper Back

Ahh. This is one hot tribal shoulder tattoo design, and the way it extends to the upper back is super HOT. That means appealing. Sexy.

Here are a few things that I find hot about this tattoo, and you might want to think about if you are getting a tatoo:

  • The tattoo design is asymmetrical. Remember – symmetry is sucky. This is because it is safe. Safe is not memorable. Safe is…well…unadventurous and quite a bit chicken. Safer is dull, mainstream and the majority. If you are getting a tattoo, why be safe?
  • The tattoo design is strong. It’s screams boldness and strength. Once again, I repeat my fave mantra “go big or go home.” This is not a rule, but one of those little reminders, a check point to ask yourself when you are doing something creative. It is that extra bit that will push you further – to the “edge” – and perhaps inspire great art. Getting a tattoo is a creative endeavor. Be creative. Be great.
  • The tattoo design is simple yet says a lot. That’s the beauty of tribal tattoos – their artistry has been worked over the ages, and so they’ve had time to get it right. Trust your elders! Yet be of your time. How easy is that? Not so easy. But this tattoo design did it.

Temple Lion Covers an Old Tattoo

This beautiful oriental temple lion tattoo is stunning. It has gorgeous color and detailing and makes a bold statement on this man’s shoulder.

In Buddhism, the lion is a symbol of regal strength.

The dense tattoo design is a great way to cover up an earlier tattoo mistake. Remember – tattoo regret is common and this is one way that you can deal with it. Cherry Blossoms Make An Elegant Shoulder Tattoo



This cherry blossom tattoo on the shoulder is hitting it out of the park.

I love that tattoo design is really breaking out of the traditional mold – and that tattoo artists are becoming just that – artists. Their artistry is in design, the colour, the texture – knowing the parts of the body and how the tattoo will look on it.

Older traditional tattoo designs can have a cartoony 2d look to them – but newer designs are looser, more flowing. I think we are going in a never before explored world of tattoo design – with such looseness of strokes that would make even Vincent Van Gogh proud.

This cherry blossom tattoo drapes ever so sweetly over the woman’s shoulder. I love how the flowers are layered one on top of the other.

You can really call this tattoo an accessory. Kind of like a shawl draped over the shoulder.

Remember, tattoo regret is pretty common. That’s why a lifetime memberships with a Tattoo gallery is a great idea – there’s no rushing when it comes to choosing your tattoo.
