Tree of Life on Your Arm

Tree tattoo on arm

The trees of life is a very ancient symbol that has been important throughout history to many cultures around the world. The tree symbolism is often religious, and means immortality or fertility.

The tree of life though has remained popular has been adopted in modern times too by many different groups and causes. In Science, the tree of life describes the relationships of all life on Earth in an evolutionary context.

The universality of this symbol makes it a popular one for tattoos. Something that means this much to so many different people on earth, now and before, is definitely something worth revering. A tree of life tattoo is a safe bet as a symbol, while still exuding modernity, as the designs are always striking. 5 stars for this tree of life tattoo on the woman’s upper arms for its boldness and strength.

Unique Poppy Tattoo

Heroin Princess [she have never bin] Tattoo

Here is a great Poppy Tattoo in a wonderful unusual spot – the inner elbow.

I love the classic style old world styling of this poppy tattoo design. It has a bygone era feel to it that seems timeless. I have these kinds of drawings on tablecloths from the 30s.

Placed on the inner elbow this tattoo is very feminine – strong yet elegant. Yet the tattoo is definitely not sucky. The powerful design of the poppy tattoo is striking – it’s not your everyday tattoo design, it’s not your every day “I’m a princess” design, and is not your everyday flower either – it is definitely fitting a woman with a lot of style and character.

Thank to Anna below in the comments who told me it was a poppy. I thought it was a wild rose. But since I found it was a poppy I love this tattoo design even more. I mean, how unusual, striking and dramatic. You should know by now my tastes in tattoos don’t run to the mainstream, and I love the boldness of striking tattoo design.

Dragons are popular in the orient. They are a symbol of  wisdom and longevity. The koi carp is a symbol of perseverance and courage. That is why koi and dragons make very popular tattoo subjects.

I love the beautiful colours on this tattoo. The details and shading on this arm sleeve tattoo are wonderful.

This Vortex Arm Tattoo Makes A Bold Statement

Creative Commons License photo credit: aleadni

The days of finky, dainty, sucky tattoos for women are gone. Today it’s all about power. And kicking ass.

I think this looks great with the stripes on her t-shirt. Bold graphic statements go far.

This has a bit of the evil eye in it, non? Watch out or you will get sucked into the evil vortex.

Remember, tattoo regret is pretty common, so take your time when choosing your tattoos. That’s why lifetime memberships with Tattoo galleries are great – there’s no rushing when it comes to choosing your tattoo – so less chance of regretting your decision.

The True Meaning of Tribal Tattoos

Creative Commons License photo credit: Meanest Indian

Be aware that your tribal tattoo patterns are often steeped with meaning and symbolism, and are much more than pretty patterns to the people.

The Rabari tribes are living the same life they have been living a millenium as semi-nomadic cattle herders. “Meanest Indian” has compiled a wonderful collection of photos featuring traditional tattoos, photographed in the Rabari tribal village of Gada, east of Bhuj.
One custom that has persisted is the art of tattooing and the women tattoo magical symbols onto their necks, breasts and arms. It is an ancient practice, usually performed to represent the tribal communities of Rajasthan.

The local tattooers punctured the desired pattern into the skin by means of sewing needle, which can be very much painful. Visible design pattern is rubbed by the lamp black and is pressed by a thumb. The sap of a various herbs are applied over the designed marks as an antiseptic.

As with most of the tribals in the area the women also produce vibrantly embroidered clothes, mainly for their own use. there is a marked similarity in the motifs used in their embroideries and tattoos.
